JEOL carbon coater

More information.

The Jeol-420 vacuum evaporation unit is used to coat specimens with a thin layer of carbon prior to Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Mineral Liberation Analysis (MLA). The unit can carbon coat about 10 x 30mm diameter mounts per run and including evacuation time takes about 1 hour. The carbon coating is necessary to make the sample conductive for use with high vacuum mode in the SEM. This conductive layer is a necessity when performing MLA analysis on resin embedded samples.

Model: Jeol-420
