Accessibility

This statement was prepared on 18 September 2025.

Overview

This statement applies to content published on Equipment Data Service and its data management platform.

This website has been developed by Jisc. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand.

You should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • Zoom in up to 400% without problems
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • Use most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have access needs.

How accessible is this website?

As part of the upgrade in 2025, we have completed accessibility testing. We are aware of the following accessibility issues with the Equipment Data Service website and data management platform:

  • Missing skip links on the public website
  • Incomplete use of landmarks and skip links on the data management platform
  • Screen readers not announcing the table field before reading the cell content
  • Screen readers not announcing some elements exactly as they appear
  • At 400% zoom, the ‘Save as default view’ button is misplaced

We are actively working to fix these issues and testing with assistive technologies so we can improve the experience for all users.

How we tested this website

We are continuing to test this site using semi-automated testing tools such as WAVE. We have carried out tests to check if the site is usable with keyboard-only navigation, at 400% magnification and using a screen reader (VoiceOver).

How to report accessibility issues

What we're doing to improve accessibility

Whenever new features are released, they go through our internal quality assurance checks and must meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working towards solutions to the issues identified above.
