Manage records
The following steps apply to both Pure equipment module and Kit-Catalogue users.
- You will not be able to edit records on the platform. The data harvest from your platform will be the source of truth at this stage. (Note: we are looking at future functionality which will allow you to add additional metadata on the platform which will not get overwritten by the harvest schedule.)
- You will be able to request DOIs for equipment records that meet all the mandatory fields
- You will be able to search and filter on records
- You will be able to download all or selected records
Go to “View records” tile on the data management platform. Here you will be able to see all your published records and request DOIs for equipment.
If you want the service to assign DataCite DOIs for equipment records that have already been published, then the following mandatory fields must be completed. See our data model in detail for more information.
- 1.2 - Internal record ID
- 1.4 - Name
- 1.5 - Description
- 2.1 - Manufacturer (for equipment-type records only)
We will not assign DOIs for records with existing DOIs or for facility records.
- For each equipment record you will see a checkbox to select it. Select the records you would like a DOI for.
- Then press “Request DOI for selected”. This will take you to a page which shows “records to be published with a DOI” and “records to be published without a DOI”. You will be able expand these sections to view the records and can still at this stage change requests for DOIs. You can also cancel the workflow at this stage and return to the records page.
- If you are happy with the DOIs that you are requesting, then press “Confirm”.
- Navigate back to the dashboard to the “View records” tile to view the DOIs that have been assigned to equipment records. You may need to refresh the page for the newly assigned DOIs to appear.
